« The essence of independence is to be able to do something for one’s self. »
Maria Montessori
Between the ages of 2 and 3, your child embarks on a journey of exploration, fueled by an insatiable curiosity and boundless enthusiasm. This pivotal stage marks a period of remarkable growth and development, as they acquire new skills and abilities at an astonishing pace.
From the explosion of language to the need for manipulation and gross motor skills (climbing, walking, climbing), our Communauté Enfantine is designed to support children’s cognitive, motor, social and emotional development.

Practical life
In an environment prepared in accordance with Montessori pedagogy and through experimentation and autonomy, we support young children in their sensory and intellectual development. In the Communauté Enfantine, children discover practical life exercises. These are daily activities, carried out with objects adapted to their small hands, which encourage concentration, patience and perseverance. They come in several groups:
Preliminary exercises
Forming the cornerstone of all other exercises, these foundational activities establish order and structure within the group. These exercises encompass a variety of tasks, such as carrying a chair or tray, walking along a line, and rolling and unrolling a mat.
Care of the environment
Through these exercises, children cultivate a sense of order, harmony, and independence in their surroundings. These activities refine their motor coordination and foster their adaptation to their environment. From simple tasks like sweeping and brushing a rug to more complex ones like cleaning a mirror, these exercises provide opportunities for children to develop essential life skills.
Care of the person
Nurturing self-care routines plays a pivotal role in fostering independence and boosting self-esteem. Through simple yet meaningful tasks such as combing their hair, washing their hands and brushing their teeth, or putting on their shoes, children refine their psychomotor skills and concentration, while also building self-confidence and a sense of accomplishment.
Grace and courtesy
The creches is a vibrant hub for socialization and growth. Children discover the joys of interaction, the importance of sharing, the value of cooperation, and the significance of adhering to community rules.
Sensory life
Using scientific equipment (universal, calibrated, tested and measured), children refine their senses by observing, manipulating, and deducing. They transform abstract concepts like “big” and “small,” “smooth” and “rough,” into tangible experiences. This hands-on approach lays the groundwork for comprehending the intricacies of the decimal system, geometry, and mathematics.
All these activities are based on the principle of free choice for the child.
Awakening creativity
Through art, music, storytelling and dramatic play, children develop their imagination, fine motor skills, language and self-confidence. These activities are a way for them to express their emotions, their artistic sensibilities and their creative potential
